It happened over coffee. We were discussing how we never really cared for resolutions. That this time of year felt like a rush to change everything you’ve ever disliked about yourself and your life, and just like redefining Advent we might need a chance to redefine the New Year by accepting where we already are and going from there.
The shared hot beverages were between Teresa and Rain and I, and I am so happy that coffee date happened, because I was feeling a little sad about my dwindling box of Come Thou Long Expected Advent words. I’ve so enjoyed the process personally, and listening to what it has stirred in YOU has been a rich wave of strength and hope that I didn’t anticipate.
This January we’re going to walk, jump, skip, or crawl through Portals of Acceptance. Opening the doors to cross the threshold of the places our soul is longing to simply accept. Maybe your doorway portals will lead you home. Maybe they’ll lead you into the wild. Maybe you’ll find home and the wild to be one and the same. Your acceptance journey will no doubt have its own flair and color scheme. Do you accept the invitation?
