Sewing, Sickness and an Indian Dress

I created some more pins for a Christmas gift exchange with my husband’s team at work.

We unfortunately missed the party due to our family being sick. The party was internationally themed and we were to dress in costume and take food from the country of our choice.

My friend Kavitha gave me this beautiful Indian dress and made food for us to take to the party. I felt so blessed that she would do this for us. It was a lot of fun getting to “play dress-up.” She put her fancy jewelry on me and we took pictures.  The dress is so different from anything I would ever wear, which made me love it all the more. I so enjoy getting to learn more about her culture.

This week, I’m continuing to sew on Christmas gifts and I’m catching up on lots of laundry that got neglected while we were all sick. I can’t tell you how good it feels to be healthy. I also have aspirations this week to bake some Christmas cookies, read library books to my kids, work on a Scrap Girls related project and get out some to-do/dream lists on paper. I love making lists.

I will also probably continue to read Galatians. I can’t help myself.

What are you excited about doing this week?

Hey Mandy,
Reading some of your blog I am wondering if you have had any connection with World Harvest, Jack Miller or Sonship. Your stuff on Grace reminds me of them… and your love for Galatians. We’ve been doing theatre for their meetings for years. Just curious.

Joe and I have been in Galatians as well. LOVE it! We’ve been reading it for about a month now. We both started reading it without knowing the other one was reading. I am excited this week about getting some school accomplished so we can have 2 weeks off, so I can get some sewing time in. Also hoping to make cookies and figure out the appetizer I’m bringing for our co-op party tomorrow night! I also am a list maker, and I am in the process of making one for all the things I would like to get wrapped up before Christmas. I want to be able to play with the kids the days after Christmas and not have to do “grown-up” things.

I am looking forward to baking cookies, seeing what our kids pick out for each other on their shopping trips, finishing my shopping, (hopefully) receiving the what I ordered for my parents and in-laws Christmas presents in the mail.

Charlie, No, I’m not familiar with any of the ministries you have mentioned. So cool! Your theatre stuff looks so fun!

Gina, That’s so cool that you’ve been reading Galatians as well. Isn’t it great? What do you plan on sewing?

Valerie we’re doing cutout cookies this week, and I’m still using the recipe you gave me! :)

I am going to make new pajama pants for the kids. And an apron for a friend of mine, she wants it for her mom’s christmas. I am thinking of making one for myself. I finally finished all of the mending I had piled up. Oh I forgot about the bags I’m making too. I always have lots going. :)

I’m looking forward to hanging out with your kiddios. :) And my friend Mikie’s grad school graduation. And being done with all my book orders and taking some time to get my studio re-organized for the new year!

I’d love to share goal lists with you again sometime. That always inspires me and keeps me going. And now that the 1st trimester fog is beginning to lift, look out craft world…I’m baaaaack! :)
