At the end of June our Angry Homemade Noodle Group took a break for the month of July. Now we are over halfway through August, and I am ready to give some direction as to where we are headed next. (I know, finally, right?)

When I originally started this group my overwhelming need was to be in community with other moms. I was needing a community of women to do life with. I was needing to know that I wasn’t broken beyond redemption, that me battling my flesh as a mom and a wife and a friend was normal and that there was hope outside of myself.

I jumped in with both feet and created video teaching that shared from my heart what I was going through and what God was teaching me about all of that. It was a GREAT learning and healing and growing time for me. And from the feedback and participation, I am so glad to see that God was able to use my struggles to encourage other women as well.

Having taken a hiatus and giving it a lot of thought, I realize I don’t have the margin in my life right now to continue doing video teaching each week. I also don’t feel like what I need is another Bible Study to attend (or lead). What I’m really desiring in my life is a community of women that hold me accountable in my faith and encourage with scripture and otherwise and pray for me. I want a small band of women to do life with, to go deep with.

So I hope you’ll understand as I refocus the purpose of our Angry Homemade Noodles LifeGroup and try some new things. I still think the tool of “online” is very valuable. I would like to partner with other women who are willing to use technology like Skype, Facebook, Twitter, Texting, videochat, etc. to be available to each other. We could use these tools to pray for each other as needed.

I would also like to meet once a month (the fourth Monday of the month) at 8:30 online. I see this time being a time to encourage each other with scripture and talk about how we’re doing in our lives and our roles as mom and wife. If we feel like to we need to meet more than once a month, we can adjust accordingly.

I think in order to allow a LifeGroup to grow deep the number has to be limited, so I don’t foresee having a lot of people in this group. 3 at the least and 10 at the most. If we get over 10 we really need to think about breaking apart into separate smaller groups. We’ll deal with this as the need occurs.

If you have a community of women that you are doing life with and going deep with, that’s great! Angry Homemade Noodles may not be for you any longer. But if you are seeking out a group of women to really challenge and encourage you in your faith, a place to be real and grow, that is the sort of community I hope we can establish.

One other thing, if you feel this LifeGroup will not be a good fit for you, but you still need to find one that is, please check out Find a LifeGroup. There are several groups both on and offline that could be the fit you are looking for. Also consider starting your own!

If you are interested in being a part of this newly refined Angry Homemade Noodles LifeGroup, please connect with me on Facebook and send me a message. Tell me what you are hoping to get out of this LifeGroup and let’s see if we can partner together!

To kick it off, we will meet next Monday nite, Aug 24, at 8:30 PM in the chat on my blog.
