Part of school lately has included cooking. Reading a recipe, measuring, turning the oven to the right temperature…all good stuff. (We haven’t really quit learning during the summer. It never even really dawned on me to do that. Hmmm.)

Trying something different – fresh apricots. I don’t think I’ve ever had one. We all liked them. Even Charis, who insisted she wouldn’t because they were furry. Oh, and the little dude is cutting his first tooth. Right on time. All of our kids have done that right around 9 months.

Practicing writing the alphabet with sidewalk chalk. Nearly perfect.

Zoe drew her own Fairy Birthday invites. We’re sending them out this week. Excited for her birthday party in a couple weeks!

It’s been interesting taking an official break from reading the Bible. (Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me or challenged me on the matter. I plan on writing a follow up post at some point.) I’ve seen God in so much of the details of life lately. Take homemade guacamole. I’m telling you, one bite the other day and I new that a creative God loves me.
What colors and flavors!

I wrote Tony a love letter. I had a couple people give me a letter lately, and it just seemed so special. I want to write more letters. I’m totally inspired by this book.

Also I’m reading this by Sabrina Ward Harrison and working through this class by Rachel Denbow. Both are inspiring me to start art journaling again. Nothing quite like it.
Oh, and I’m sore because of this. Jillian’s killing me.
