Sewing For My Man

All this sewing going on, and I realized a family member I was completely leaving out. TONY!

So I took my inspiration from a class I took from Elsie before Christmas, and I made a drink sleeve for his starbucks treats.

I won’t be making these to sell, as I’d rather not have Apple sue my butt-off. However, it was fun and simple to make, so I’d encourage you to make your own custom one, replacing the Apple Logo with anything you like. I know I’m going to be wanting to make more.

Just get a Starbucks cup sleeve and open it to lay flat and trace for your pattern. Cut your felt out. Wrap it around your cup and pin at appropriate size. Then sew on a thin strip for your clasp with a cut for a button hole in the end. Measure where your button needs to be sewn and stitch it on. Stitch around edges (a blanket stitch would look cool too!) and add embellishments as desired. I chose the Apple because it’s rare my husband isn’t sipping on his Starbucks Coffee without his computer around.

Tony’s next request? A laptop sleeve. Why does that sound incredibly difficult and intimidating? Especially because I would want it to be lined, and I’ve never lined anything. Hmmm.
