Free Album for Monthly Goals towards freedom

January Goals

Book Binding

I created, or I should say I am in the process of creating, a personal goal book for 2008. All of the goals pertain to my word for the year: “free.”

On the inside cover I wrote these words: “And this is how I’ll get there; I’ll take one step at a time.”

The pages of this Donna Downey Album (thanks mom for the cool Christmas gift) are letter-size manilla envelopes that open on the right-hand side, instead of on the top like most envelopes. Inside there is a card that I hope to journal on at the end of each month. The journaling will consist of any key things that happened during the month and some evaluating before the next month begins. Where have I done good at being “free?” Where have I found myself holding back?

The outside of the envelopes have my goals for the month written overtop of splotches of white paint. They also have chipboard painted letters in the bottom right-hand corner of each envelope, spelling out the month.

My thinking is that I’ll collage on the backs of the envelopes. Little snippets from my month.

I once heard a quote…”That which isn’t measured, doesn’t grow.” Or something to that affect.  So I’m not trying to make a real effort to measure my goals towards freedom so I have a chance of evaluating if I’m actually growing.

This album is totally inspired by this album. Thanks again Noell.

I’ll try and periodically post pictures as I add to this.

Cool! It looks gorgeous. I love the happy colors! Was that just a coincidence that your mom get you a book with envelope pages (and enough of them to last the year)?

I hope you’ll go back to my posting and leave a comment with a link to this so that the Paperclipping audience can come see it.
