Today and tomorrow we’re celebrating birthdays in our home. Zoe is 4 today and I will be not-yet-30-but-older-than-Tony tomorrow. We had a fun day today. Tried to go to lunch at The Big Red Bird today, Zoe picked it, but of all things the mall was out of power. So we sold her on the idea of Johnny Rockets.
Made a chocolate cake with white icing that we will take to eat with friends tonite. And she has a number 4 candle. She made sure I understood that she did not want four, 1 candles. No, she wanted 1 candle in the shape of the number 4. So that’s what we got. :)
I have some new photos from today up on my Flickr.

I got this in the mail yesterday (thanks mom).

So now I can purchase this. Ordered it today and it should arrive to our new house the day after we move in. I know the least thing about sewing, so wish me luck on creating some curtains for our new house. Any easy curtain patterns for a beginner, never sewn-before in her life, momma?

Just today we solidified a UHaul to rent for a 24 hour period next week. We will NOT be parking it in Vegas. Lesson learned. In fact, I think I might sleep in it.

Found out through email that my high school reunion is tomorrow in a bar in Columbus. I’m going to miss it. What a bummer. I seriously would love to see my classmates from high school. I think about them all the time, wondering where life has them now and if they are happy. I dream about them all the time too, especially strange dreams about lacing up my shoes to play basketball and volleyball again. Strange…I know. But gosh, I sure do miss them. (Well, most of them.) When you spend 12 years of your life with the same people, it’s hard not to miss them.

How stinkin’ cute is that little machine! Love it! You’re going to whip up some curtains before you know it. For an easy curtain, just measure the length of the window and add enough fabric to fold over a large “hem” to slide a curtain rod through. Super easy. Look forward to seeing a layout of that! ;) Oh, and Happy Birthday Mandy!

Good luck with the sewing. I made curtains for every room in our house by using that sticky-tape-stuff-that-you-iron-and-it-creates a-bond type product. I got the $1/yard fabric on sale and then went to town. It was actually pretty easy. I’m sure it will be easier sewing. The only thing I would be worried about was getting a straight line. I had some issues with that on my unpatterned fabric.

this is a really great machine. I bought one (although not the cute kitty design on front) a year ago, to be my first sewing machine, and have been able to go through wool, and even whip up tank tops and skirts with it. Pretty powerful for such a small little thing.
